Fire safety during construction

Fire safety during construction, can be roughly divided into two parts; newbuild underground facility/tunnel or refurbishment of an existing underground facility/tunnel. In the first-mentioned case, it is mainly the work environment and safety for the construction workers being described. When simultaneous functioning of a facility must be ensured during construction, fire safety must also include protection of the existing processes and operations as well as the occupants using the facility.

BSL has extensive knowledge of both the requirements for fire protection within underground construction sites as well as within adjacent facillities. During 2022-2023, BSL has worked with complicated expansions of Stockholm metro, expansion of Stockholm’s sewage treatment and expansion of the Slussen project.
