Rail Tunnels

Brandskyddslaget, BSL, offers expert knowledge for railway, light rail and metro tunnels, which also includes underground stations. Brandskyddslaget provides fire safety guidance for stations and rail tunnels including CFD and evacuation calculations, fire protection of structures, design of fixed fire fighting systems (FFFS) and emergency concepts.
From 2021 to present, BSL has conducted risk analysis as well as fire and evacuation calculations for Stockholm Central Station, been responsible for a tunnel exercise in The East Link project, and provided action plans for the Stockholm metro. In addition, BSL has had special assignments in connection with the procurement and design of rail vehicles, the design of a new response strategies for rescue operations and been responsible for fire tests in new rail tunnels and stations.
